Overview

Slocumb Law Firm is strengthening its Litigation team and seeking a driven, proactive, and highly motivated Litigation Attorney with a strong foundation in Personal Injury Law and civil litigation. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the importance of urgency, and takes full ownership of their caseload from intake through resolution.

You will be part of a dynamic, growth-oriented team committed to delivering exceptional client outcomes while reinforcing and strengthening our presence in the Mississippi market.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategy and litigation decisions.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.

• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, negotiations, and trial proceedings.

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys on complex matters, contributing research-based insights.

• Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant state and federal laws applicable to Personal Injury.

• Proactively manage all stages of case files, ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely follow-through.

• Provide exceptional client communication, protecting client rights and managing expectations effectively.

• Demonstrate responsiveness, urgency, and a results-driven mindset in all interactions.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD).

• Admission to the Mississippi State Bar in good standing.

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on litigation experience managing cases through active litigation required.

• Trial experience preferred

• Strong legal research and analytical skills.

• Experience in Personal Injury Law or civil litigation highly desirable.

• Exceptional drafting and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage high-volume caseloads under tight deadlines.

• Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and act decisively.
