We are seeking a Staff Attorney to join our Immigration Practice. This is a full-time, remote position designed for attorneys who are interested in a long-term practice focused primarily on client service and legal work. The position has different advancement opportunities and compensation structures than the firm's traditional partnership-track attorney roles.
Our dedicated immigration team provides comprehensive U.S. and outbound immigration services and solutions for any business across a myriad of industries, including preparation of immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, providing counsel on compliance audits and government investigations, and conducting corporate training. The staff attorney will provide sophisticated counsel and advice to firm clients on employment-and some family-based immigration matters. Responsibilities include initial case strategy discussion, eligibility assessment for non-immigrant and immigrant visa classifications, preparation of various petitions and applications, research of complex immigration issues, and assisting with immigration alerts.
Candidates must have 3-6 years of experience in employment-based immigration matters including but not limited to H-1B, E-1/E-2, Blanket L, L-1A/L-1B, TN, PERM, and employment-based green card matters. Some experience with family-based immigration is preferred. Knowledge of INSZoom is strongly preferred. Successful applicants must have outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to supervise and direct paralegals and legal assistants. Must be licensed and physically located in MI, IL, OH, or D.C. (Miller Canfield office locations).
