Litigation - Associate - Asbestos/General Associate (Philadelphia)
Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with product liability litigation and general/business expertise to join our Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience working on high-volume product liability matters, preferably asbestos matters, including experience in taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, motions, and case summaries, and working directly with clients and opposing counsel. The candidate who fills this position will support both our asbestos litigation and general/business litigation practices.

- Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion
- Possess strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrates an ability to work independently and productively and show a strong interest in advancing a career in Litigation
- Produces quality legal work and bills the required amounts of hours to ensure excellent client services
- Complies with the very highest ethical standards of the legal profession
Required Education: Juris Doctor
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Licensed to practice law in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements. Admission in the state of New York or New Jersey is a plus.
Preferred Experience: 4+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney working on high-volume matters, ideally related to asbestos or other products liability matters. Candidates should have demonstrated experience with all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, trial, and appeals, and be able to drive matters from inception to conclusion. Candidates should have significant drafting experience and some courtroom experience is ideal. Candidates must have strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral advocacy skills, and be comfortable working directly with clients and opposing counsel. Prior experience working at a law firm is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Indirect - actively utilizes support staff or junior associates to ensure client satisfaction
Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit (or utilize a standing desk) for prolonged periods and work on a computer
Travel Required: Less than 10%
