Scott & Associates, P.C. is a well-established, multi-state legal recovery law firm seeking a motivated Attorney to join our Texas-based team.

The Adverse-Claims Attorney will serve as the primary legal resource for all intake, review, and analysis of counterclaims and direct claims that fall within our Creditors’ Rights practice.


This role requires a razor-sharp analytical mind, exceptional written communication, and the agility to juggle multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and evaluate new claim filings, counterclaims, and related documents.
  • Conduct in-depth review of evidence, pleadings, and discovery materials to identify strengths, weaknesses, and exposure.
  • Determine the legal merits, potential defenses, and strategic options for each case.
  • Advise on the applicability of Texas Rules of Evidence and Civil Procedure to each matter.
  • Act as the concierge contact for high-profile clients, providing timely, clear, and professional updates.
  • Translate complex legal concepts into client-friendly language and anticipate client questions.
  • Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to gather evidence, identify key witnesses, and prepare for filings.
  • Serve as a resource for questions regarding case strategy, procedural requirements, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure all case files are complete, organized, and compliant with Texas court rules and firm standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case milestones, deadlines, and client interactions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of Civil Litigation experience.
  • Experience in consumer or creditor rights litigation is nice to have.
  • Advanced knowledge of Texas Rules of Evidence & Civil Procedure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a strong ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents.
  • High level of discernment, critical thinking, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pivot quickly between competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships with professionalism and courtesy.

Travel & Flexibility

Occasional travel (up to 10% of the time) for client meetings, court appearances, or industry conferences.
