Job Description General Practice Associate



Job Title: General Practice Associate Location: Delaware and Newark, Ohio

Reports To: Executive Partner

FLSA: Exempt



Summary: Responsible for providing all legal services to the assigned region by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Research and Drafting



  1. Researches cases and legal issues to support client cases and prepares the appropriate documentation according to established procedure.

 

  1. Conducts legal research by preparing legal memoranda and necessary pleadings required in all aspects of both state and federal litigation matters as needed.

 

  1. Drafts pleadings and current correspondence, analyzes, and reviews legal documents as needed.

 

Customer Service



  1. Provides counsel and legal services to new and existing clients by evaluating their needs, providing education through layman’s language, prepares proposals for the client through written communication and representsclients in a professional and expedient manner.

 

  1. Applies knowledge of legal procedures and previous cases to effectively counsel clients.

 

  1. Develop new clients and interfaces with existing clients on a continuous

 

  1. Contacts customers, prospect base, and major accounts via telephone or by traveling in their own vehicle on a continuous basis.

 

Professional Responsibility

  1. Communicates with opposing attorneys through personal contact, telephone, and facsimile to expedite cases to a close.

 

  1. Occasionally appears at hearings and

 

  1. Complies with all court, state bar and interoffice rules, regulations and procedures on a daily basis.

 

  1. Complies with all continuing legal education requirements. Including additional duties required to OSBA certification.

 

  1. Delegates tasks as appropriate to support

 

  1. Responsible for meeting requirements for billing as assigned by the partner/s or their designates.

 

  1. Ensure all client information and documents are uploaded to Box, Clio, and Clio Grow correctly.

 

  1. Ensures the filing of documents with appropriate courts, public and private

 

  1. Connect with local businesses, bar association(s) and community

 

  1. Attend meetings with White Law Office partners and staff as

 

Client Base Building



  1. Perform client intakes for all practice areas, identify issues relevant to each client intake, communicate the issues to the case manager or attorney in charge of relevant issues, and communicate with clients for the primary attorney when necessary.

 

  1. Develops and manages client base through prospecting, setting appointments, and servicing clients via telephone and personal contact.

 

  1. Reaches out to prior book of business to invite them to become clients at the

 

  1. Write and submit subject matter expertise articles, blog entries, videos,

 

  1. Conduct, with the firm’s help, seminars, educational, and networking


Qualifications:

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases.Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Apple Safari;Google Chrome; Mozilla Firefox, Clio, Lexicata, Ring Central, Bamboo HR and Box.

 

Education/Experience:

Juris Doctorate (J. D.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Member of the Ohio State Bar
  • Notary
  • Title License
