Lateral Associate - Corporate: Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions
Sullivan & Cromwell is seeking experienced associates to join the Firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions group. Ideal candidates should have at least three years of experience working in the IP and technology transactions practice of a similar law firm and whose practice has been focused on large companies (e.g., not early-stage companies). The Firm has a preference for candidates with substantial experience in IP/technology elements of M&A transactions (in particular divestitures) and significant commercial agreements. While certainly not required, candidates who have a science/technical background and commercial AI experience (compute/digital infrastructure transactions + commercial partnerships) are a soft plus.
This is an opportunity for experienced lawyers, and as such, current law students are not eligible for consideration for this particular role.
About the IPT Group:
The Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions Group advises clients on a broad range of intellectual property (IP) and technology issues confronting today’s businesses. The Group structures, drafts and negotiates IP- and technology-intensive transactions, which include the IP and technology aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, spin-outs, financings and other corporate transactions, as well as IP and technology acquisitions, divestitures, licenses, collaborations, commercial agreements (in particular related to AI and digital infrastructure), and settlements.
