Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a mid-level Business Trial Associate Attorney with at least 3-6 years of experience to join its nationally recognized healthcare litigation practice as an Associate in its Los Angeles office.

The Healthcare Litigation Industry Team represents healthcare and life sciences clients in complex commercial litigation and government investigations throughout the country. Our healthcare litigation team protects the interests of our clients in commercial litigation and civil disputes, internal investigations, enforcement actions, and rulemaking challenges. We handle high-stakes, cutting edge issues in an increasingly important sector of the economy, including regulatory disputes between health care service plans, health insurers, and their regulators; constitutional challenges to laws and regulations; reimbursement disputes between health care services plans and providers; privacy issues; and much more.

We seek an associate eager for the opportunity to take on substantial case responsibilities, including taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and participating in trials. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• 3 to 6 years of litigation experience

• Comparable law firm experience

• Experience running cases and managing more junior attorneys

• Strong academic background from a top-tier law school

• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills

• Trial experience is a plus, but not required

• Prior federal clerkship experience a plus

Candidates must be an active member of the California State Bar. Resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample are required to apply. The annual salary range for this position is $260,000 - $390,000.
