Schwabe currently has an opening for a full-time associate lawyer to help support our Land Use practice as a part of the Real Estate & Natural Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have: Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school At least 2 years of experience with land use law, which could include: Appearance at public hearings Administrative proceedings General litigation including briefing and oral advocacy Research and review of development feasibility Appellate briefing and litigation Analyzing administrative codes and regulations Drafting land use applications Judicial clerkship experience is a plus Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid research, analysis, writing, and communication skills. Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence. Strong client service ethics. Strong communication, self-initiative, and time management skills. Interest in business development in the land use real estate/construction and/or natural resources industry. Washington State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity (required). The preferred location for this position is Vancouver, but consideration could be given to candidates in Seattle, Washington. Inquiries are maintained in confidence. The pay range for this position is $155,000 - $185,000, depending on job skills and legal practice experience relevant to the position. The position is also eligible for productivity and discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year.
