Post-Clerk Associate (Los Angeles)

Jenner & Block LLP is seeking a junior associate to join our dynamic Environmental and Workplace Health and Safety Practice in our Chicago office, preferably with 1-3 years of experience. The starting salary for this position is $235,000-$260,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, relevant experience, and other position-related factors, consistent with applicable law.

An associate on our team can expect to work on a wide variety of matters affecting all environmental media and under all environmental statutes and common law, for matters in jurisdictions across the country.  The successful candidate will be welcomed into our group to become a â 360° environmental lawyerâ including representing clients from multiple types of industries in a variety of environmental, health and safety litigation, advising on transactions; and providing regulatory guidance and counseling, including for permits.

• Candidate should be a detail-oriented, independent self-starter with excellent project management, written, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials are required
• Prior governmental experience (especially ENRD or EPA) or clerkship experience preferred
• Candidate possesses a strong commitment to pro bono representation. 
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment is essential
• Admission to the Illinois bar is required
