New York – Fund Formation Associate (Junior)

We are searching for a mid-level associate to join our Debt Financing group in our Boston or New York office. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of direct experience in structuring and negotiating commercial loan facilities and other secured transactions.

We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and collaborative attorney who is excited about working with clients in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. Your practice at Gunderson will involve counseling both venture-backed and public companies in all aspects of debt financing and secured transactions. You will have significant client contact, and must be comfortable interacting with CEOs, Boards of Directors, and general partners of venture funds.

Job Requirements:

• JD 2021 - 2022
• Previous experience at a BigLaw firm or recognized debt finance boutique required.
• Candidates must be admitted or eligible to waive into the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or New York State bar.
• Eagerness to work with tech and life sciences companies and venture funds.
• Demonstrated experience in representing either lenders or borrowers in debt finance transactions, including venture debt, recurring revenue loans, asset-based lending, fund finance,  and other debt financings for both private and public companies.
• Experience with both bilateral and syndicated loan structures a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are highly valued.

Salary Range:

• $310,000 - $365,000
