Environmental Staff Attorney

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP seeks an experienced and collaborative attorney to join its highly ranked and nationally recognized Environmental practice group as a non-partnership track salaried staff attorney working from our San Francisco office. An attorney in this position will be benefits-eligible and it is anticipated that this position would have a billable hour expectation of 1500 – 1800.

Qualified applicants will have at least three years of experience practicing environmental law in the context of compliance counseling, obtaining permits and other regulatory authorizations, agency rulemaking, enforcement defense, or litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in air quality regulation and climate change. Prior work experience in the employ of California regulatory agencies or local air districts is a plus but is not required for this position.

As a member of the environmental team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on interesting, long-term projects with established clients.

A successful candidate is dedicated to the practice of environmental law, has self-motivation, strong intellectual curiosity, good judgment, responsiveness, perseverance, and excellent written and oral communication skills. This position is not a remote position; presence in the office at least 3 days a week is important for collaboration. Active membership in the California bar is required.

At the time of posting, the expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, training, skill sets, licensure and certifications, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data.
